Updated: Oct 2

In the case of fraternity and sorority houses, sometimes real life is even better than the movies. With impressive entrances, customized interior designs, and amenities like movie theaters and workout rooms, Greek Life houses are more like mini-mansions compared to your standard campus dorm or apartment. So where can you find some of the biggest Panhellenic houses in the US? Read on to discover our list of the 15 biggest fraternity and sorority houses.

Meet the biggest Greek life houses

Greek life houses are notorious for their impressive size and rich history. Houses in movies like Legally Blonde and No Strings Attached are not that far off from real-life versions of decked-out fraternity and sorority houses. The average Panhellenic house is just under 30,000 square feet, which is more than three times the size of an average single-family home in the US. On average, Greek life houses tend to be 67 to 70 years old and have enough room to house dozens of fraternity and sorority members with plenty of spare space for hosting events and other greek life activities.

Considering their size, it comes as no surprise that these houses come with a hefty price tag, with an average valuation for a fraternity or sorority house coming in at more than a million dollars. Fun fact: while fraternities usually have larger properties, sorority houses usually have a slightly higher average valuation.
